A record year at Side by Side Safaris

At Side by Side Safaris, the 2019 season turned out to become a very special year for us. In addition to a record number of visiting safari guests, our clients took an unusually high number of record-class trophies during their safaris with us. As examples of exceptional trophies, we can mention a Steenbok that quite possibly is a new world record of this popular trophy. Another example is the rare but much coveted Scimitar Horned Oryx. At the time of writing, we are still waiting for the official score but the trophy has also been pre-assessed as one of the very largest even taken – a potential new world record.

One of the most popular species among hunters, who come to South Africa, is the beautiful Nyala. There is a strong population of naturally occurring Nyala on our Klipplaat grounds. Over the past season, a record number of our clients were successful in taking Nyala bulls with horns bigger than the magical 30 inches. Worth mention is also a buffalo bull that scored as the biggest buffalo bull shot by a Scandinavian hunter in Nordic Safari Club's book of records.

We have selected a small handful of the most impressive trophies taken with Side by Side Safaris – view them above this text.
