Tsessebe

The Tsessebe antelope are larger and somewhat different in appearance than the other two wild species in the same line (Blesbok and Bontebok). Both sexes carry horns, and have a dark brown colour.

The Tsessebe is known for being the fastest of all African antelopes, with a top speed of 70 km/h. They are very territorial, and can be seen standing on termite nests with the head held high as a threat to its rivals. The Tsessebe usually live in large flocks.

Hunting Tsessebe

Due to its habitat on the open plains, a flat-shooting riffle calibre is recommended. A .270 Win with a quality projectile should be considered minimum. More recommended is a 7mm.
