Duiker, Blue

Hunting for Blue Duiker is often a real challenge. Blue Duiker is the smallest of the species in the duiker family and one of South Africa's smallest wild species. A large male weighs no more than 4.5 kg. Both males and females have horns. However, the males can have horns up to 2 inches. Its hair is blue-greyish with a white belly and short tail with a white underside.

Hunting for Blue Duiker can be extremely difficult. They normally live solitary, and are extremely difficult to spot.

The best way to hunt Blue Duiker is small intensive hunts in small valleys or ravines with dense vegetation. Often, the hunter will be standing on post, on a small lane or glade. A shotgun is preferred in the hunt for this animal, as it is often in high motion when the shot is fired.
