Blackbuck

The Blackbuck lives on the open plains of central India, Nepal and Pakistan. Many years ago the Blackbuck was exposed in several places in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa, which today holds a population of this beautiful wild species.

The Blackbuck male's coat is black and white, but may also vary in the colour brown/white. This wild species should normally live in larger groups of 5-50 animals.

It is only the Blackbuck male, which is having horns. The horns are tightly twisted and have deep grooves that make this wild species a coveted trophy. The horns can reach a length of approx. 70 cm.

A flat-shooting rifle calibre is recommended for shooting the Blackbuck as long shots often occur in the open terrain. The choice of calibre could be e.g. a .270.

Side By Side Safaris offers hunting for Blackbuck, in a 23,000-hectare large hunting area northeast of our exclusive hunting lodge.
