Bush Pig - on bait

Bush Pig is the African version of the European wild boar. Bush Pig is smaller than its European cousin. The Bush Pig is predisposed for aggressive behaviour. Its colour varies from grey-brown to dark brown, depending on its age.

Its corner teeth are relatively short compared to its relative the warthog. Males tend to be slightly larger than females, and they move in groups of 6 to 12 with a dominant male.

Bush Pig hunting will take you through thickets and dense undergrowth, where they are staying during the daytime. They are distinctly nocturnal, and are often hunted at night.

A rifle of appropriate calibre should be used. It is recommended to use a calibre .270 or a shotgun with large hail for this purpose.

Side By Side Safaris has the ability to offer a unique hunt for Bush Pig with a professional dog team, exclusively trained for this type of hunting. We have cooperation with a local professional hunter who is considered to be the best in the business when it comes to hunting Bush Pig with dogs.
Bush Pig is usually only night-active, but on this exciting form of hunting, you get as a hunter the opportunity to hunt this wild species, in a very exciting way during the day.
