About the Eastern Cape Kudu
The Eastern Cape Kudu, or Tragelaphus strepsiceros, is a sub-species of the larger Kudu family native to the southern regions of Africa. Adult males of this species can weigh up to 300 kg (around 660 lbs), with females being smaller and lighter. The shoulder height of a grown male can reach up to 150 cm (59 inches), adding to the animal's imposing presence. The Eastern Cape Kudu is distinguished by its long, twisting horns and a blue-grey coat with white stripes, offering excellent camouflage in its natural habitat.
